Description
The Cycle of Erosion, proposed by William Morris Davis (1889), is a model describing the evolution of landscapes through three stages—Youth, Maturity, and Old Age—following rapid tectonic uplift. It posits that running water reduces elevated landmasses into a low-relief, featureless plain known as a peneplain over time.
