Covalent Bond In Chlorine
Project Information

Description
A covalent bond forms when two chlorine atoms share one electron each, creating a shared pair of electrons to complete their outer shells. Each chlorine atom has seven valence electrons and needs one more to achieve a stable "octet" of eight electrons, like the noble gas argon. The shared electrons are attracted to the nuclei of both atoms, holding them together in a stable diatomic molecule
